small bird
upper hand on raptor
for just a moment
I bore
witness
the Mountie
takes off his hat
her whole body
collapses
a black hole
stuck out
nail
bent roughly
with measured thwack
canary falling
sprawling graveyard
a ways
off interstate
squint to
make out details
all performers
who traveled
heavily
went down eventually
those days
